Malaria Prevention

17-04-2024

Malaria is an infectious parasitic disease caused by the presence of malaria parasites in the human body. The main sources of malaria transmission are symptomatic malaria patients and asymptomatic carriers, primarily through mosquito bites as the vector, and in some cases, through direct blood transmission. Preventive measures include the use of prophylactic medications to avoid mosquito bites, eliminating mosquito breeding grounds and killing mosquito larvae in stagnant water, spraying insecticides (such as chlorpyrifos or pyrethroids) indoors and outdoors, installing window screens on doors and windows, using insecticide-treated bed nets, and wearing long pants and long-sleeved shirts.

We have independently developed diagnostic test kits for Plasmodium falciparum (pf) antigen (colloidal gold method), combined diagnostic test kits for Plasmodium falciparum (pf) and Plasmodium vivax (pv) antigens (colloidal gold method), and combined diagnostic test kits for Plasmodium falciparum (pf) and mixed Plasmodium species (pan) antigens (colloidal gold method). These kits are affordable, easy to use, and can rapidly diagnose malaria, thereby reducing the spread and mortality rate of the disease.
